what is the kriya collective?

the kriya collective is a group of yogic dancers and performing artists. we seek to explore the depths of contemporary dance choreography and infuse it with aesthetic, philosophical and spiritual influences from around the world. we derive inspiration from global music and art, as well as our everyday surroundings and emotions. the deepest roots of our souls also inform what we create and how we respond to one another during the creative process.

kriya is the physical manifestation (dance) of awakened kundalini (creative self-expression). we see our dance as a deed to the people... an eternal effort and offering of our artistic vision... the arts are a vital aspect of societal well being... we intend to keep them alive, fresh and thriving off new ideas, perspectives and avenues.

stay tuned for more from the kriya collective—info on dancer bios, choreography, asana (posture), philosophy, spirituality, mudras & mantras, history, photographs, video... there will even be some room for discussion of holistic health practices (as they contribute fully to kriya).
